Bernard Aronson (United States of America, 1946 – ) served as the Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States, Executive Speechwriter to the President and Special Assistant and Speechwriter to the Vice President from 1977 to 1981. In 1984, Mr. Aronson became President of the Policy Project, a Washington-based consulting firm, and from 1989 to 1993, he served as Assistant Secretary of State for Inter-American Affairs. Conducted on 9 October 1997, while Mr. Aronson was serving as a founder and managing partner of ACON Investments LLC, this interview focused on United States involvement in the post-civil war elections in Nicaragua and El Salvador. Mr. Aronson discussed the peace processes in both countries, how the United States Government played into those events and the United Nations involvement in the ceasefires.
