Summary
DAA Provides an update on developments since the previous report of 6 Mar. 2003 (S/2003/257) and describes the deployment and activities of the UN Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE), whose mandate was extended until 15 Sept. 2003 by Security Council resolution 1466 (2003). Includes an update on UNMEE assistance to the demarcation work of the Eritrea-Ethiopia Boundary Commission. Reports on the status of the Temporary Security Zone and adjacent areas, Boundary Commission and Claims Commission, mine action, humanitarian and human rights developments, public information, and financial aspects. Annexes include the 9th report of the Boundary Commission covering the period 22 Feb.-9 June 2003, note on the work of the Claims Commission, and a table showing contributions to the UNMEE as at 16 June 2003.
