Summary
Reports that the members of the Security Council have decided to send a mission to the West African subregion 15-23 May 2003. Presents terms of reference of the mission and among the objectives are: encourage cooperation among countries of the subregion; examine links between the conflicts in Liberia, Côte d'Ivoire and Sierra Leone and their impact on neighbouring countries; assess the effectiveness of UN Assistance Mission in Sierra Leone and the UN Peace-building Office in Liberia; urge parties to respect ceasefire provisions in Liberia and Côte d'Ivoire and ensure the conduct of fair elections in Liberia and Guinea-Bissau.
