Mr. Leonard Meeker (United States of America, 1916 – ) served as a lawyer in the Office of the Legal Adviser of the United States Department of State before being appointed the United States Ambassador to Romania from 1969 to 1973. In this interview, conducted on 24 July 1990, Mr. Meeker discussed the 1950 Korean War and the nature of the relationships the United States Government and military had with the United Nations and the Security Council. Specifically he outlined the efforts made by each party to end the conflict, the Uniting for Peace Resolution and the emergency meeting held by the General Assembly to deal with this crisis. He also touched upon the views of the State Department during the establishment of Israel.
