Résumé
Reiterates that efficient, accountable, effective and transparent public administration plays a key role in the implementation of international agreed goals; stresses the need to strengthen national public sector administrative and managerial capacity-building, in particular in developing countries and countries with economies in transition; welcomes the recommendations of the Committee concerning the directions of the UN Programme on Public Administration and Finance, in particular the recommendations that future work of the UN on public administration should devote priority assistance to the special needs of Africa; requests the Secretary-General to endeavour to hold a session of the Committee in 2003 within existing resources; decides to review at its substantive session in July 2003 the request of the Committee that it meet annually .
