Financing of the United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone : resolution / adopted by the General Assembly

Decides to apportion among Member States the additional amount of US$90 million at a monthly rate of $7.5 million for the period from 1 July 2002-30 June 2003, comprising $67.5 million for the period from 1 July 2002-31 Mar. 2003 and $22.5 million for the period from 1 Apr.-30 June 2003, in accordance with the levels set out in General Assembly resolution 55/235 of 23 Dec. 2000, as adjusted by the Assembly in its resolution 55/236 of the same date and its resolution 57/290 of 20 Dece. 2002, and taking into account the scale of assessments for the years 2002 and 2003 as set out in its resolution 55/5 B of 23 Dec. 2000, as adjusted by the Assembly in its resolution 57/4 B of 20 Dec. 2002, subject to a decision of the Security Council to extend the mandate of the Mission; decides also that, in accordance with the provisions of its resolution 973 (X) of 15 Dec. 1955, there shall be set off against the apportionment among Member States, as provided for in paragraph 2 above, their respective share in the Tax Equalization Fund of $326,400 for the period 1 July 2002-30 June 2003, at a monthly rate of $27,200, comprising $244,800 for the period 1 July 2002-31 Mar. 2003 and $81,600 for the period 1 Apr.- 30 June 2003, in addition to the estimated staff assessment income in the amount of $9,004,200 previously approved under the terms of Assembly resolution 56/251 B; decides further to keep under review during its 57th session the item entitled "Financing of the United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone".
