Summary
Decides to proclaim the ten-year period beginning on 1 Jan. 2005 the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development; designates UNESCO as the lead agency for the promotion of the Decade, and requests it to develop a draft international implementation scheme, clarifying its relationship with the existing educational processes, in particular the Dakar Framework for Action adopted at the World Education Forum and the UN Literacy Decade.
