Summary
Endorses the agreed conclusions of the Working Group on the Right to Development, as adopted by the Commission on Human Rights in its resolution 2002/69, which constitute a solid foundation for further initiatives towards the promotion and the realization of the right to development; expresses deep concern and anxiety about growing corporate corruption; supports and appreciates the recently adopted New Partnership for Africa's Development as a development framework and a practical example that could be explored for the promotion of a rights-based approach to development; requests the Secretary-General to bring the present resolution to the attention of Member States, UN organs and bodies, specialized agencies, funds and programmes, international development and financial institutions, in particular the Bretton Woods institutions and non-governmental organizations, and to submit a comprehensive report on the implementation of the present resolution to the Commission on Human Rights at its 59th session and to the General Assembly at its 58th session; decides to continue at its 58th session consideration of the issue of the right to development, as a matter of priority.
