Summary
Reaffirms its strong support for the revitalization of the Regional Centre; appeals once again to all States, as well as to international governmental and non-governmental organizations and the foundations, to make voluntary contributions to the Centre; requests the Secretary-General to continue to provide the necessary support to the Regional Centre; also requests the Secretary-General to facilitate the establishment of close cooperation between the Regional Centre and OAU and to continue to assist the Director of the Centre in his efforts to stabilize its financial situation and revitalize its activities; appeals the Regional Centre, in cooperation with OAU and regional organizations and African States, to take steps to promote the consistent implementation of the Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects.
