摘要
Mr. James Nevins Hyde (United States of America, 1909 – 1996) became a political adviser to the United States Mission at the United Nations in 1948. In 1951, he was appointed Deputy Representative to the General Assembly. After resigning in 1953, with the change of Presidential Administrations, Mr. Hyde returned to the private practice. He continued his relationship with the United Nations, advising the United Nations on American legislation and executive orders as they affected visa, passport and related personnel issues. In 1959, Mr. Hyde began to work for the Rockefeller Brothers Fund before retiring in 1980. The interview took place on 18 April 1990. He shared some personal insight into the early days of the United Nations, and its ever changing relationship with the United States; the Korean War; and the recognition of the Peoples Republic of China as a Member State.
