ملخص
Lawrence Finkelstein (United States of America, 1925 - ) served in the United States Department of State in 1944, and subsequently the United Nations Secretariat from 1946 to 1949. From 1952 to 1965, he worked at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and in the United States Department of Defense from 1965 to 1966. A retired professor of political science when this interview was conducted on 23 November 1990, Mr. Finkelstein recalls the early years of his career. Privy to the major meetings and conferences where the United Nations was imagined, conceived and created, he shares his observations of what disputes arose during the creation of the United Nations Charter and the ultimate role the Organization would play in a post World War II world.
