Reports that on 8 May 2002, 2 Iraqi armed launches allegedly embarked on an act of piracy against an Iranian commercial launch at the entrance to the Arvand River (Shatt Al-Arab) and that the incident resulted in the death of an Iranian naval officer and injury to another.
