Financing of the United Nations Organization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo : resolution / adopted by the General Assembly

Endorses the conclusions and recommendations contained in the report of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions (A/56/688) and requests the Secretary-General to ensure their full implementation; also requests the Secretary-General, in order to reduce the cost of employing General Service staff, to continue efforts to recruit local staff for the Mission against General Service posts, commensurate with the requirements of the Mission; decides to appropriate the additional amount of US$196,593,590 gross for the maintenance of the Mission for the 9-month period 1 July 2001-31 Mar. 2002, inclusive of the amount of $3,351,190 gross for the support account for peacekeeping operations, in addition to the amount of $8,260,509 gross already appropriated for the support account, the amount of $862,915 gross already appropriated for the UN Logistics Base and the amount of $200 million gross for the maintenance of the Mission for the period 1 July-31 Dec. 2001 appropriated and assessed by the General Assembly in its resolution 55/275.
