Takes note of the report of the Secretary-General; takes note also of the deliberations of the Preparatory Committee for the International Conference on Financing for Development, to be held at Monterrey, Mexico, 18-22 Mar. 2002; stresses the importance of continued substantive consideration of the item on globalization and interdependence; requests the Secretary-General to report to the General Assembly at its 57th session on globalization and interdependence, bearing in mind, inter alia, the outcome of the International Conference on Financing for Development; decides to include in the provisional agenda of its 57th session the item entitled "Globalization and interdependence".
