Commends the focus by the Fund on strategic programmes in its 3 thematic areas and on supporting innovative and experimental activities in implementing its strategy and business plan (2000-2003) within the context of the Beijing Platform for Action and the outcome document of the 23rd special session of the General Assembly; encourages the Fund to continue to contribute to ensuring that a gender perspective is integrated into a comprehensive approach to the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) at all levels of the 3 thematic areas of the Fund; urges the Fund to continue its efforts to mainstream a gender perspective in UN operational activities, including through the resident coordinator system and the common country assessment and UN Development Assistance Framework processes; urges Member States, non-governmental organizations and members of the private sector that have contributed to the Fund to continue to contribute and to consider increasing their financial contributions, and urges others to consider contributing to the Fund.
