Summary
Reaffirms the importance of the UN Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Programme in promoting effective action to strengthen international cooperation in crime prevention and criminal justice; also reaffirms the role of the UN Centre for International Crime Prevention in providing to Member States, upon request, technical cooperation and advisory services; welcomes the programme of work of the Centre and calls upon the Secretary-General further to strengthen the Centre by providing it with the resources necessary for the full implementation of its mandate; invites all States to support, through voluntary contributions to the UN Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Fund, the operational activities of the UN Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Programme; requests the Secretary-General to take all necessary measures to provide adequate support the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice during the biennium 2002-2003.
