Reports that following the terrorist attacks in the United States on 11 Sept. 2001 and in accordance with the exercise of the inherent right of the individual or collective self-defence (Article 51 of the Charter of the UN), referred to in Security resolution 1368 (2001), France has undertaken action involving the participation of military air, land and naval forces.
