The report is submitted pursuant to paragraph 21 of Security Council resolution 1314 (2000). It sets out information under the following sections: consolidating the normative framework; monitoring of obligations and commitments; child protection on the UN peace and security agenda; impact on children of illicit exploitation of natural resources in zones of conflict; child soldiers and abducted children; HIV/AIDS, children and conflict; addressing impunity and redressing abuse; peacebuilding for children; and regional responses.
