Transmits letter of 25 June 2001 from Aytug Plümer of the Turkish Cypriot community referring to letter dated 29 May 2001 from Cyprus (A/55/970-S/2001/541) concerning the renewal of the mandate of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP); states that from the tone of the said letter, the Greek Cypriot side is not interested in a new partnership with the Turkish Cypriot side on the basis of political equality and that consent of both parties is necessary for UNFICYP to function in Cyprus.
