Résumé
KOS Transmits monthly report on the international security presence in Kosovo, covering the period 1-30 Apr. 2001. States that the security situation in Kosovo continues to be affected by the violence in the northern area of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and has increased the risk to Kosovo Force personnel. The conditional and controlled return of the forces of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia into the ground safety zone continued during the reporting period. On 25 Apr. a group of 144 Kosovar Albanian prisoners were released back into Kosovo. The number of refugees making their way into Kosovo from the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia during the period from mid-February until the end of March has reached a total of 8,432.
