Refers to Security Council resolution 1343 (2001) concerning Liberia and reports the appointment by the Secretary-General of 5 experts to the Panel of Experts Established by Security Council Resolution 1306 (2000) to investigate violations of the measures imposed by paras. 5 to 7 of the resolution, to collect information on the compliance by the Government of Liberia with demands in para. 2 of that resolution, and to further investigate possible links between the exploration of natural resources, other forms of economic activity in Liberia and fuelling of the conflict in Sierra Leone and neighbouring countries.
