Summary
The Manual on Statistics of International Trade in Services provides a coherent framework within which countries can structure the statistics they compile and disseminate on international services trade. In order to facilitate countries' adoption of this framework, the Manual builds on existing standards for compilation. The Manual takes both a broader and a more detailed view of international trade in services than has conventionally been the case. It clarifies and describes the various ways in which services are traded internationally. It also provides a detailed classification of services delivered through trade between residents and non-residents, and provides a recommended treatment of the local delivery of services through foreign affiliate trade.
