Résumé
Refers to letter of 28 Dec. 2000 from the Democratic Republic of the Congo alleging the presence of Rwandan troops in the territory of Zambia to launch attacks on the Democratic Republic of the Congo; notes that the Presidents of Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo held a meeting on 4 Jan. 2001 and concluded that there was no truth to the allegations and that the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo would formally apologize to the Security Council and withdraw said letter; states that in the opinion of Zambia, however, the letter (S/2001/29) does not amount to the unconditional withdrawal of troops of the 28 Dec. 2000 letter, which President Kabila had promised would be done.
