Summary
States that, in compliance with Security Council resolutions related to sanctions against Iraq, the Islamic Republic of Iran has seized an Iraqi tanker called Al-Zahra, which was carrying 10 sailors along with a cargo of 2,500 metric tons of Iraqi unauthorized mazut, 8 Dec. 2000; states further that in this connection, on 10 Dec. Iraqi forces approached the impounded tanker and engaged Iranian Navy personnel, and that in the course of the conflict one Iraqi was killed and one Iranian was wounded.
