Transmits statement issued on 1 Dec. 2000 by the Presidency on behalf of the the European Union on the presidential and senatorial elections in Haiti of 26 Nov. 2000; states that following the refusal of the Haitian authorities to take account of the findings of the OAS on the elections of 21 May 2000, it initiated the consultation procedure provided for in Art. 96 of the Cotonou Agreement in order to seek measures to remedy the situation, but it does not rule out the possibility of readjusting its cooperation with Haiti if no acceptable solution were to be found; urges resumption of dialogue among all sections of Haitian society.
