The critical situation of the International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women : resolution / adopted by the General Assembly

Expresses grave concern that contributions have not reached the level required to enable the Institute to operate beyond 31 Dec. 2000 and the lack of resources to ensure its future; requests the Secretary-General to report to the General Assembly during its 55th session on additional possibilities to support the institute; decides to provide the Institute with financial assistance on a non-recurrent basis in order to enable it to continue its activities throughout 2001; urges Member States and intergovermental and non-governmental organizations to continue to contribute to or consider increasing their contributions to the UN Trust Fund of INSTRAW; requests the Secretary-General to report to the General Assembly at its 56th session on the implementation of the present resolution and to include detailed information on the financial flows of the Institute and the Trust Fund.
