TitleProgress in the implementation of General Assembly resolution 53/192 on the triennial policy review of operational activities for development of the United Nations system
Requests the Secretary-General to assess the extent to which the simplification and harmonization of programming cycles and procedures, have benefitted the programme countries; requests the UN system to take further measures to improve the effective incorporation of technical cooperation among developing countries; requests the programmes and funds to submit to the Council information and analyses of the extent to which the cross-cutting themes and goals emerging from global conferences have been integrated into their programme priorities; urges the UN development system to strengthen efforts towards gender mainstreaming, empowering of women and gender equality; recommends that the practice of holding joint meetings of UN funds and programmes be continued and requests them to prepare joint reports of those meetings; request the Secretary-General to report to the 56th session of the General Assembly on the impact of the UN Development Assistance Framework and progress in the implementation of the multi-year funding framework.
