Calls upon the concerned regional members to review existing development strategies and work closely together in the development of the Greater Mekong subregion; proclaims the Decade of Greater Mekong Subregion Development Cooperation (2000-2009); requests the General Assembly to endorse the Decade and encourage global support for its implementation; requests the Executive Secretary of ESCAP to help mobilize resources for technical assistance and to call necessary meetings to design a work programme for the development of the Greater Mekong subregion.
