Summary
Deeply concerned by the increase, in many regions of the world, of acts of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations; reiterates its condemnation of all acts of terrorism, irrespective of motive, wherever and by whomever committed; welcomes the efforts of the General Assembly and other organs of the UN in the field of combating international terrorism; calls on all States that have not done so to consider, as a matter of priority, becoming party to the existing anti-terrorism conventions; reaffirms its resolution 1269 (1999) of 19 Oct. 1999 and calls upon all States to implement its provisions fully and expeditiously; reiterates its readiness to take necessary steps in accordance with its responsibilities under the Charter of the UN in order to counter terrorist threats to international peace and security.
