DAA The report is submitted pursuant to paragraph 20 of Security Council resolution 1261 (1999). Discusses the issues regarding children and armed conflict and the steps taken to protect them. Presents several recommendations in each of the following areas: protection of children in the midst of conflict; integrating the protection of children into peacemaking and peacekeeping; regional initiatives on behalf of children affected by armed conflict; and the role of non-governmental organizations and civil society.
