Financing of the UN Logistics Base at Brindisi, Italy

Endorses the observations and recommendations contained in the report of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions (A/54/841/Add.8); approves the cost estimates for the Logistics Base amounting to US$9,317,400 gross for the period from 1 July 2000-30 June 2001; decides to apply the unencumbered balance of $451,800 in respect of the period from 1 July 1998-30 June 1999, the interest income of $114,000 and miscellaneous income of $1,166,000 ($1,731,800 in total) to the resources required for the period from 1 July 2000-30 June 2001; decides also to prorate the balance of $7,585,600 gross among the individual active peacekeeping operation budgets to meet the financing requirements of the Logistics Base for the period from 1 July 2000-30 June 2001; authorizes the Secretary-General to provide for a civilian establishment consisting of 10 Professional, 13 Field Service and 83 locally recruited staff.
