Reports that the Secretary-General's letter of 18 Apr. 2000 (S/2000/334) concerning the possibility of creating a panel of experts to undertake a preliminary investigation into reports of alleged illegal exploitation of natural resources and other forms of wealth in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has been brought to the attention of the members of the Security Council.
