Financing of the UN Transitional Administration in East Timor (UNTAET)

Endorses the conclusions and recommendations contained in the report of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions (A/54/804), and requests the Secretary-General to ensure their full implementation; decides to appropriate to the Special Account for UNTAET the amount of US$350 million gross for the establishment and maintenance of the Transitional Administration for the period 1 Dec. 1999-30 June 2000, inclusive of the amount of $200 million authorized by the General Assembly in its resolution 54/246 A; decides also, as an ad hoc arrangement, to apportion the amount of $150 million gross for the period 1 Dec. 1999-30 June 2000, taking into account the amount of $200 million already apportioned among Member States; decides further that, in accordance with the provisions of its resolution 973 (X) of 15 Dec. 1955, there shall be set off against the apportionment among Member States, as provided for in paragraph 13 above, their respective share in the Tax Equalization Fund of the estimated staff assessment income of $8,915,700 approved for the Transitional Administration for the period 1 Dec. 1999-30 June 2000.
