Renewal of the dialogue on strengthening international economic cooperation for development through partnership

Decides that the theme of the 2nd high-level dialogue on strengthening international economic cooperation for development through partnership will be "Responding to globalization : facilitating the integration of developing countries into the world economy in the 21st century"; also decides to defer the 2nd 2-day high-level dialogue to the 56th session of the General Assembly; requests President of the General Assembly to begin consultations with Member States on the date, modalities, nature of the outcome and focus of the discussions of the 2nd high-level dialogue; requests the Secretary-General, in close cooperation with Governments, all relevant parts of the UN system and other relevant agencies and organizations, to make initial preparations for the dialogue, taking into account the results of major UN conferences and summits; decides to include in the provisional agenda of its 55th session the item "High-level dialogue on strengthening international economic cooperation for development through partnership" and requests the Secretary-General to present to it a report on the implementation of the present resolution.
