Summary
Reiterates its strong support of the role of the UN Regional Centre for Peace, Disarmament and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean; expresses its satisfaction with the reinitiation of the activities of the Regional Centre, with headquarters in Lima; expresses its appreciation for the political support and financial contributions to the Regional Centre; urges all the States of the region to make greater use of the potential of the Centre to meet the current challenges facing the international community; appeals to Member States, in particular those within the Latin American and Caribbean region, as well as to international governmental and non-governmental organizations and foundations, to make voluntary contributions to strengthen the programme of activities of the Regional Centre and the implementation thereof; requests the Secretary-General to provide the Centre with all necessary support.
