AccessEnglish: 1365815_E - PDF ;
Summary
Over a decade ago, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Global Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in Persons, reaffirming all Member States' commitment to combatting trafficking in persons. The Global Plan reiterated the collective effort behind the UN Trafficking in Persons Protocol and tasked UNODC with collecting comprehensive data on this crime. This edition of the Global Report on Trafficking in Persons is UNODC's seventh report on patterns and flows of trafficking in persons at the national, regional and global levels. It covers 141 countries and provides an overview and analysis of the crime trafficking in persons, as well as how countries are responding to it, based on trafficking cases detected between 2017 and 2021. The report sheds light on how the Covid-19 pandemic, and other crises during this tumultuous period, impacted trafficking in persons and efforts to end it.
