Since 2011, OHCHR has been promoting the principles for responsible contracts as a concrete tool to address some of the human rights concerns relating to State–investor contracts. This booklet is intended to complement these efforts by presenting a reader-friendly version of the principles in a more accessible format. It is the latest in the series of OHCHR publications on business and human rights (comprising the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights: Implementing the United Nations “Protect, Respect and Remedy” Framework; The Corporate Responsibility to Respect Human Rights: An Interpretive Guide; and Frequently Asked Questions about the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
