The 2006 Revision of World Population Prospects presents the global demographic estimates and projections prepared by the Population Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat in 2006. This volume of the 2006 Revision of World Population Prospects combines analysis and documentation. It provides a comprehensive overview about current and long-term trends of population size and its composition and contains a description of the methodologies, assumptions and data sources underpining the 2006 Revision.
