The Compendium of Recommendations on Population and Development: Commission on Population and Development (Vol. I) compares recommendations emanating from the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development with resolutions from the Commission on Population and Development. In addition, General Assembly resolutions on population and development since 1994 will be included in the Compendium as well. This Compendium will be prepared in time for the special session of the General Assembly on 22 September 2014 on the follow-up to the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development beyond 2014. The special session will mark the 20-year anniversary of the Programme of Action, and the Compendium will be an important and highly visible contribution to the event, informing Member States and the global public now and in the future.
