TitleWorld Population Policies 2017 : abortion laws and policies - a global assessment
AccessFull text: undesa_pd_2017_world_populationpolicies_report - PDF ;
Summary
The 2017 revision of the World Population Policies provides a global repository of current abortion laws and policies for all countries in the world, including 193 Member States of the United Nations, 2 observer states (the Holy See and the State of Palestine) and 2 non-member states (Cook Islands and Niue). These data build on the Division’s seminal work, Abortion Policies: A Global Review, published as a three-volume set during 1992-1995 and updated during 2001-2002, and its monitoring of legal grounds for abortion in the biennial updates of the World Population Policies Database from 1996 to 2015, and through the United Nations Inquiry among Governments on Population and Development.
