As a continuation of the series of studies on the Middle East, this Supplement to World Economic Survey 1963 reviews economic developments in the Middle East from 1961 to 1963. During this period, the countries covered by this report experienced generally favourable developments, which, however, varied considerably from one country to another, and, within each country, from one economic sector to another. An improvement in weather conditions in the period covered was largely responsible for the substantial increases in the economic activities of the region as a whole. Chapter 1. Agriculture -- Chapter 2. Industry -- Chapter 3. Petroleum -- Chapter 4. Foreign trade and payments.
