On 12 Feb. 2018, the Economic and Social Council elected Italy as a member of the Organizational Committee of the Peacebuilding Commission pursuant to paras. 4 (a) to (d) of General Assembly resolution 60/180, to complete the term of office of Sweden, whose membership in the Council ended on 31 Dec. 2017.
