Takes note with appreciation of the report of the Secretary-General on the implementation of General Assembly resolution 50/225; endorses Economic and Social Council decision 1998/220 of 23 July 1998, in which the Council requested the Secretary-General to conduct a 5-year assessment of the progress made in the implementation of resolution 50/225, and to report his findings to the Assembly through the Council in 2001.
