Financing of the UN Observer Mission in Georgia

Decides to appropriate to the Special Account for the UN Observer Mission in Georgia the amount of US$19,439,280 gross for the maintenance of the Observer Mission for the period from 1 July 1998-30 June 1999, inclusive of the amount of $989,880 for the support account for peacekeeping operations, to be apportioned among Member States at a monthly rate of $1,619,940 gross; decides also that there shall be set off against the apportionment among Member States their respective share in the Tax Equalization Fund of the estimated staff assessment income of $986,700 approved for the period from 1 July 1998-30 June 1999; decides further that, for Member States that have fulfilled their financial obligations to the Observer Mission, there shall be set off against the apportionment their respective share of the unencumbered balance of $818,300 gross in respect of the period ending 30 June 1997; decides that, for Member States that have not fulfilled their financial obligations to the Observer Mission, their share of the unencumbered balance of $818,300 gross for the period ending 30 June 1997 shall be set off against their outstanding obligations.
