Financing of the UN Mission of Observers in Tajikistan

Decides to appropriate to the Special Account for the UN Mission of Observers in Tajikistan the initial amount of US$8,015,120 gross for the maintenance of the Mission of Observers for the period from 1 July-31 Oct. 1998, inclusive of an amount of $415,120 for the support account for peacekeeping operations for the period from 1 July 1998-30 June 1999, to be apportioned, as an ad hoc arrangement, among Member States; decides also that there shall be set off against the apportionment among Members States their respective share in the Tax Equalization Fund of the estimated staff assessment income of $428,000 approved for the period from 1 July-31 Oct. 1998; decides further that, for Member States that have fulfilled their financial obligations to the Mission of Observers, there shall be set off against the apportionment their respective share of the unencumbered balance of $1,507,900 gross in respect of the period from 1 July 1996-30 June 1997; decides that, for Members States that have not fulfilled their financial obligations to the Mission of Observers, their share of the unencumbered balance of $1,507,900 gross for the period from 1 July 1996-30 June 1997 shall be set off against their outstanding obligations.
