Financing of the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara

Decides to appropriate to the Special Account for the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara the amount of US$22,749,540 gross for the operation of the Mission for the period from 1 July-31 Oct. 1998, inclusive of the amount of $1,149,540 for the support account for peacekeeping operations for the period from 1 July 1998-30 June 1999; decides also to apportion the amount of $22,749,540 gross for the period from 1 July-31 Oct. 1998 among Member States, at a monthly rate of $5,687,385 gross; decides further that there shall be set off against the apportionment among Member States their respective share in the Tax Equalization Fund of the estimated staff assessment income of $1,276,000 approved for the period from 1 July-31 Oct. 1998; decides that, for Member States that have fulfilled their financial obligations to the Mission, there shall be set off against the apportionment their respective share of the unencumbered balance of $2,570,300 gross for the period from 1 July 1996-30 June 1997; decides also that, for Member States that have not fulfilled their financial obligations to the Mission, their share of the unencumbered balance of $2,250,300 gross for the period from 1 July 1996-30 June 1997 shall be set off against their outstanding obligations.
