Reports that Israel began archaeological excavations in the area of Burj al-Laqlaq inside the old City of East Jerusalem as a preliminary step towards building a new Jewish settlement and that 4 housing units in the Silwan neighbourhood of Arab East Jerusalem were taken over by a Jewish settler group Ateret Cohanim.
