Renewal of the dialogue on strengthening international economic cooperation for development through partnership

Reaffirms the continued need to strengthen constructive dialogue and genuine partnership in order to promote further international economic cooperation for development; also reaffirms that such a dialogue should be conducted in response to the imperatives of mutual interests and benefits, genuine interdependence, shared responsibility and the partnership for achieving sustained economic growth and sustainable development; requests the President of the General Assembly to begin consultations with Member States so as to arrive at an early decision on the modalities, focus of the discussion and date of the 2-day high-level dialogue on the theme of the social and economic impact of globalization and interdependence and their policy implications, to be held at an appropriate time conducive to maintaining the entity and character of the 2-day high-level dialogue; invites Governments to contribute their views to the high-level dialogue; requests the Secretary-General, in close cooperation with Governments, all relevant parts of the UN system, relevant intergovernmental organizations and other development actors, to initiate preparations for such a dialogue.
