Expresses concern at the persistence of special economic problems confronting neighbouring and other States affected by the consequences of the severance of their economic relations with Yugoslavia during the period when the sanctions were in force and during the period following the lifting of the sanctions, in view of their magnitude and adverse impact on the economies of those States; welcomes the support already given by the international community to deal with the special economic problems of the affected States in view of the problems which the imposition of sanctions has posed; renews its invitation to all States and the relevant international organizations, in particular the international financial institutions, to continue to take into account the special needs of the affected States in providing assistance to them during the transition period following the lifting of the sanctions; encourages the affected States of the region to continue the process of multilateral regional cooperation in such fields as cross-border infrastructure projects and the promotion of trade and investment, thus alleviating the adverse impact of the sanctions; urges the relevant international organizations to take appropriate steps in order to broaden access for suppliers from the affected countries and to ensure their active participation in the process of post-conflict reconstruction and rehabilitation of the former Yugoslavia; requests the Secretary-General to report to the General Assembly at its 54th session on the implementation of the present resolution, in order to assess the situation and to present an analysis of the implementation of the present resolution, with a view to concluding consideration of the question.
