Statement made on behalf of the Security Council, at the 3832nd meeting, 13 Nov. 1997, in connection with prior consultations held among Council members on the item entitled "The situation between Iraq and Kuwait"; condemns the unacceptable decision of the Government of Iraq to expell personnel of the UN Special Commission (UNSCOM) of a specified nationality; demands the immediate and unequivocal revocation of this action; demands, in accordance with resolution 1137 (1997), that Iraq comply immediatly and fully with its obligations under the relevant resolutions; stresses that the Governemnt of Iraq has full responsiblilty for ensuring the safety and security of the personnel and equipment of UNSCOM and the International Atomic Energy Agency and their inspection teams / President, Security Council.

Statement made on behalf of the Security Council, 3832nd meeting, 13 Nov. 1997, in connection with prior consultations held among Council members on the item entitled "The situation between Iraq and Kuwait." Condemns the decision of the Government of Iraq to expel personnel of the Special Commission of a specific nationality thereby imposing conditions on the Special Commission; demands the immediate revocation of this action; demands, in accordance with resolution 1137 (1997) that Iraq comply fully with its obligations under relevant resolutions; stresses that the Government of Iraq has full responsibility for ensuring the safety and security of the personnel and equipment of UN Special Commission and the IAEA and their inspection teams.
